A womb twin survivor is a person who started life in the womb as a twin, but their twin died. The twin's body may have been lost due to a stillbirth, a miscarriage, or a "vanishing twin" pregnancy in which one twin's body is re-absorbed into the womb during pregnancy. It is susprisingly common, but the effects have rarely been discussed. The stories in this book are written by the surviving twins of such twin-loss situations. These brave 'womb twin survivors' talk openly and piognantly about their lives as young children and how the loss of their 'womb twin' may have affected them later in life, in childhood and so on. The stories were sent to us via our sister 'Womb Twin Survivors' web site www.wombtwin.org. We have not given any of the writers their real name, so the stories could well be about anyone, even you.
We hope you might find some parts of these stories that are similar to your own story or those of someone you know. Twin loss before birth is a profound thing, but rarely opened up to the light of compasion and understanding. When it is, the effects can be truly healing. Womb twin survivors are not all alike. Not every story will be like your own, but you may find your story somewhere in this book.
If you have often wondered whether you are a womb twin survivor or not, these stories can help you to decide.
Perhaps you have always known you were once a twin, but you are not sure what effect the loss of your twin has had on you. These stories may help you to discover that your feelings are not as strange or inexplicable as they can sometime seem, but are often completely normal but hard to understand.

The present epidemic of obesity and overweight has a sinister cause: many of us have, without realising it, become food addicts. Addiction to certain food ingredients, such as wheat, sugar and dairy products puts the appetite into overdrive and this is why some of us overeat. This idea is now becoming common, but when this diet was first published it was revolutionary.
I know from personal experience what being a food addict can mean. For me, "just a little" of the wrong food could spell disaster for my slimming efforts! To lose weight I have to give up my favourite "food fix" entirely, in just the same way that a smoker must give up smoking tobacco entirely. However, because food is a 'basic need', handling a 'food addiction' is so much more complex and challenging. That's why we came up with this book. It's designed to help address food addiction without curing it. It's a way of eating, not a diet, and it helps you to find your back back to healthy control with your eating.

The Food Addicts Det. was published in 1991. It made me a published author.
The basic ideas, revised and pinted anew, are still available.
FOOD AND YOU. The only book that takes addiction to food as a given for people with a food problem.
